What does your company do, and how does your role support the company goal?
We are an international consultancy helping companies to develop trade and investment opportunities with China since 2004 and established our Shanghai office to support in-market work in 2014. I travel to China 5 or 6 times each year with clients or independently and I keep the networks and connections live in China which is an important part of Chinese business culture.
What is your career background?
I have worked in international business for more than 30 years helping companies and organizations to develop business, partnerships and networks. And as a result, I have travelled extensively to Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East including Saudi Arabia, South East Asia including China & Hong Kong – and other countries.
What makes your company stand out in your industry/sector?
We have developed specialism and expertise with China and understand the business culture well. We provide practical and flexible support with our teams in both the UK & China
What is your proudest achievement since being with the company?
Being invited to accompany the Prime Minister in 2018 on her visit to China as part of the business delegation
What is your top tip for success in business/career?
Do what you enjoy and keep motivated and moving forward.
Why are you passionate about being located in Huddersfield?
I was born in Huddersfield and have lived here most of my life. So who needs a better reason to keep the business in Huddersfield!
What do you enjoy doing when not at work?
Travelling anywhere and everywhere!
