Support for Huddersfield Business Week continues to flood in, with the announcement of some very BIG news. Eorl Crabtree, former professional rugby league footballer, will fill the important role of quiz master.

Huddersfield Business Week’s quiz night takes place on Thursday 3rd October at Revolution Huddersfield. Alongside Ocean Spark Studios, money raised will put a number of young, vulnerable people through a video games coding workshop, following the shocking news that 70% of the UK tech industry experience skills shortages.

When approached by the organisers of Huddersfield Business Week to be our star-guest, Eorl jumped at the chance after learning of the focus behind the evening and the impact the fundraiser could have.

Eorl has played rugby at representative level 13 times for England, as well as club level in the Super League for the Huddersfield Giants. Now enjoying a life of retirement from his beloved sport, Eorl is passionate about supporting his community and takes every opportunity to use his large following in a positive way.

“I’m proud of where I grew up, and am really encouraged to see the profile of our humble town being raised in more ways than sport. Huddersfield Business Week has become a phenomenon, and I’m keen to get onboard with the values behind the organisation of the week,” Eorl said.

As part of our fundraising, we will also be hosting a raffle prize, can you help us with donations? We have already received donations from a number of organisations who have kindly supported us, including Experience Days with a £50 voucher, Magic Rock Brewing with a £20 voucher and Tesco Huddersfield with a bundle of store items.

The quiz night is from 6:00-10:00pm. Tickets are priced at £15pp, which includes food and entry, with teams of four maximum for the quiz. Money raised will cover the cost of the video games coding workshop for a number of young people. Email Heidi Hawkins to secure your ticket: [email protected] or 01484 637980.
